Regional Director Severino C. Santos of the NEDA Regional Office in Central Luzon (NRO III) delivered the keynote message during the opening activity of the 28th National Statistics Month (NSM) entitled “2015 Census of Population and the Sustainable Development Goals Data Dissemination Forum” at Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP), City of San Fernando Pampanga last October 2.
In his speech, Santos emphasized that reliable statistics and factual information are indispensable in determining appropriate strategies for monitoring the progress of AmBisyon Natin 2040. He also commended the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for its efforts in improving the Philippine Statistical System which is the main source of accessible, timely and reliable statistics and indicators.
Meanwhile, speakers from the PSA Central Luzon presented the Demographic Characteristics of the 2015 Census of Population, and the Analysis of the Data Requirements and Availability of Sustainable Development Goal Targets and Indicators.
The forum is the first activity lined-up this October in celebration of the 28th NSM with the theme “Facts and Figures for the Future: Statistics for Evidence-Based Decisions towards AmBisyon Natin 2040”.
