The Regional Development Council (RDC) VI discussed and prepared its work program for 2017-2019 during the workshop for RDC VI members held recently in Buenavista, Guimaras. The document is intended to guide the Council and its sector committees regarding the issues and challenges identified and prioritized in the Regional Development Plan (RDP).
Discussed at the workshop were the following: (a) major activities and events to be undertaken this year until the first half of 2019 by the social, economic, infrastructure, and development administration sector committees and other five RDC special committees; (b) capability building activities to further capacitate the RDC members; (c) activities to strengthen private sector involvement in the RDC and its various committees, among others.
All the identified activities and events were confirmed by the Council during its first quarter meeting last March 30 and will guide the NRO VI in preparing the subsequent RDC VI budget proposals.
The workshop activities provided an opportunity for RDC members to promote camaraderie and strengthen the RDC as a development institution characterized by strong ties from the government and private sector.
The team building exercises were facilitated by Ernesto O. Cecilia of the EC Business Solutions and Career Center and a resource person from the Career Executive Service Board.
