The NEDA Regional Office (NRO) IV-A in Calabarzon launched AmBisyon Natin 2040 in Calabarzon last November 25 at Tagaytay International Convention Center, Tagaytay City.
The launching of AmBisyon Natin 2040 through a regional summit aimed to engage the support of the government, private, academe, civil organizations and youth to fulfill the vision and aspirations of the Filipinos.
Regional Director Luis G. Banua of the NRO IV-A welcomed the guests and participants, and stressed the importance of working together while respecting cultural differences to achieve the vision.
Undersecretary Adoracion M. Navarro of the NEDA Regional Development Office graced the event and presented the overview of the vision which featured the “Life We Want” and “What We Want for the Country” in 2040.
Meanwhile, Donald James D. Gawe of the NRO IV-A presented how Ambisyon Natin 2040 can be achieved. He said that with the right policies and programs on human development, infrastructure, economic growth and protection, the vision can be achieved.
Representatives from the local government, entrepreneurs, agriculture, technology, and youth sectors gave their responses on how they can contribute in attaining the vision. Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola of Carmona, Cavite emphasized the importance of the willingness to embrace change for the benefit of the community in public service. On entrepreneurship and technology adoption, Gilbert Barrera and Enrique Mirador of Given Grace Fashion shared their struggles in establishing their respective businesses. They said that with the support of government projects they were able to pursue their dreams and succeeded. On agriculture, Keneth de Gracia of Costales Nature Farm explained the importance of pursuing one’s passion to fulfill a dream. Jearnelle Ruth Audrey Roxas of the National Alliance of Youth Leaders, on the other hand, thanked NEDA in involving the youth in the endeavor and expressed the support of the youth organizations to the vision.
During the Talakayan session, programs and projects to alleviate poverty were discussed. Based on the discussion multisectoral collaboration, stakeholder participation, and support from all levels of the society are crucial in achieving the vision.
Among the resource persons during the Talakayan were RD Luis Banua, NRO IV-A; Michelle Olimba, DOH IV-A; Director Leticia Diokno of DSWD IV-A; Engr. Melquides Sto. Domingo, DPWH IV-A; and Director Rolando Dela Torre,TESDA Cavite.
The participants from the regional line agencies, local government units, private sector, media, state universities and colleges, higher education institutions and youth groups signed the commitment wall to pledge their participation in realizing the vision.
AmBisyon Natin 2040 is the result of a survey commissioned by NEDA. It represents the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino people for themselves and for the country in 2040.
