In support of the country’s long-term vision, the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) in collaboration with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) opened the AmBisyon Natin 2040 exhibit last Monday.
In her speech during the ceremony, NEDA Assistant Secretary Mercedita A. Sombilla highlighted the importance of AmBisyon Natin 2040, the vision which the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 is geared toward.
“As we bring AmBisyon Natin 2040 here at LWUA, we aim to inspire LWUAns and visiting Water Districts to take the next step toward your aspirations and your organization’s vision – to provide water and adequate sanitation services to all households in the countryside through self-reliant and sustainable water utilities,” Sombilla said.
Moreover, she said that the challenge is to make sure that efforts laid out by LWUA will be sustained throughout four administrations until 2040, as guided by the current and succeeding PDPs. She also encouraged everyone to own and fight for this vision.
The month-long exhibit is located at the LWUA-MWSS Compound in Quezon City.
