The NEDA Regional Office in Central Luzon (NRO III) launched the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) and Central Luzon Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022 last September 6 at the Holy Angel University (HAU) in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The activity commenced with the welcome message of Regional Director Severino Santos of NRO III followed by the PDP 2017-2022 video presentation entitled: Aksyon para sa Ambisyon Natin 2040 introduced by NEDA Development Information Staff Director Nerrisa Esguerra.
Meanwhile, Angeles City Vice Mayor Bryan Nepomuceno, Holy Angel University President Luis Calingo and Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Jess Nicdao also delivered their messages at the event.
The launch included plenary sessions covering the plan’s three main pillars: Malasakit, Pagbabago at Patuloy na Pag-unlad presented by Dr. Richard G. Daenos, secretary for Monuments and Sites of National Commission for Culture and the Arts; Ms. Amanda T. Battad, president of Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and private sector representative of the Regional Development Council for micro small and medium enterprises; Mr. Israel C. Romano, owner of Redbuck’s Coffee Shakes; and Mr. Jaime J. Esteban, inventor of multi-purpose rotary dryer and owner of J.J Esteban Enterprises.
Stakeholders from the private sector, government agencies and academe witnessed the unveiling of the PDP and RDP. The launch was one of the communication and advocacy activities conducted by NRO III to inform the public of the salient features of the PDP and RDP and increase awareness, understanding and interest.
The region’s stakeholders were encouraged to actively engage in future development planning and undertakings.
