The NEDA Regional Office in MIMAROPA conducted a regional roadshow on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) and Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022 and the unveiling of the MIMAROPA RDP on August 23 at the Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC), Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
The event was participated in by around 300 MIMAROPA stakeholders from various sectors including government agencies, academe, youth, development partners, local media, and civil society organizations.
The launch was graced by the presence of NEDA Undersecretary Adoracion M. Navarro. Navarro discussed the highlights of the PDP and RDP 2017-2022 and the priority targets and strategies in the plans. She urged the stakeholders to collectively achieve MIMAROPA’s visions and goals using the development plan as guide. “The PDP and the MIMAROPA RDP will be our guide in our united pursuit of socioeconomic development,” said Navarro.
A post-activity media conference was conducted to address concerns by various sectors. The road show also showcased a variety of MIMAROPA talents in poster-making, puppet theater play, cultural presentations, and an exhibit of MIMAROPA indigenous products. Other activities conducted were the signing of a commitment board by the stakeholders and a motorcade.
“This is just the start of our active collaboration with an increasing eagerness to set things in motion,” said Regional Development Committee Vice Chair and NEDA MIMAROPA OIC Regional Director Susan Sumbeling.
Other provincial road shows are slated until September. The roadshow in Boac, Marinduque will be held on August 30 while Puerto Princesa City, Palawan will be on September 14 and Odiongan, Romblon on September 28.
