The Regional Development Council in Davao or RDC XI approved the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP) 2017-2022 recently through RDC XI Resolution No. 79. The document mirrors the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022, which lays the foundation for the country’s long-term vision or Ambisyon Natin 2040.
Through the DRDP, the Diwalwal Mineral Reservation Area (DMRA) will be given renewed support by increasing the monitoring activities in the implementation of the strategies under the DMRA’s Development Plan (DMRADP), to address management issues in the region.
Incorporated in the DRDP are the following priority governance strategies and activities to improve and enhance the social well-being of the communities within the DMRA: (a) strengthening the delivery of services on education, health, justice, shelter, livelihood, infrastructure, among others; (b) conducting vulnerability assessment in geohazard and high mineral potential areas within the Mineral Reservation Areas; (c) providing information that is accessible through websites and publications of financial reports by local government units, nongovernment agencies and other DMRA key players.
In the monitoring and evaluation of the DMRADP, the Results-based Monitoring and Evaluation Framework or RbME will be used to focus on the measurement of results that relevant stakeholders expect to achieve in its implementation.
To ensure the implementation of the RbME, the National Task Force Diwalwal-Program Monitoring and Coordination Center (NTFD-PMCC), headed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the region, shall establish a database to track the performance and achievements of programs, activities and projects in the communities.
