The NEDA Regional Office (NRO) VI launched Ambisyon Natin 2040 in Western Visayas last November 15. Representatives from the government, academe, private sector and media were present during the launching and regional forum held at the RDC Hall of the NEDA-VI Building, Iloilo City.
Ambisyon Natin 2040 is a collective long-term vision that represents the aspirations of the Filipino people for themselves and for the country for the next 25 years. It describes the kind of life that Filipinos want to have and how the country will be by 2040. It will also serve as an anchor for development planning across at least four administrations.
NRO VI Regional Director Ro-Ann A. Bacal presented the Ambisyon Natin 2040 at the event. She also talked about how vision and ambition for the Philippines and for every Filipino will need everyone’s commitment for the country to reach higher levels of development. “Let us not wait for things to happen, let us make things happen,” RD Bacal reiterated.
Meanwhile, Othelo Derecho, a staff from NRO VI, talked about current efforts and preparations in the formulation of the Regional Development Plan 2017-2022, the first of four medium-term plans towards the realization of the overall vision by 2040.
