Speaking on behalf of Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia, Assistant Secretary Carlos Bernardo Abad Santos talked about the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and the role of businesses in achieving the sustainable development goals of the country during a conference on Fostering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Philippines. He said that for AmBisyon Natin 2040 to become a reality, the participation and contribution of all stakeholders should be geared towards the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.
Abad Santos added that CSR can bridge gaps and aid the vulnerable sectors of society by incorporating AmBisyon Natin 2040, which is also in sync with the Social Development Goals or SDGs.
Among those in attendance were Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Ambassador Harald Fries of the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, Ambassador Leo Herrera-Lim, Philippine Representative to Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) including representatives from the business sector.
