CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A whole day of great opportunities paved the way for jobseekers at SM malls in Pampanga which recently hosted the “Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan” job and business fairs in time for Labor Day celebration.
The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole)-Central Luzon, in partnership with SM Supermalls conducted jobs and business fairs at SM malls in Pampanga and San Fernando Downtown which are indeed ideal venues and a convenient place for jobseekers and employers who participated.
A good number of aspiring applicants vying for over 5,300 vacancies from this year’s jobs fair in SM malls — SM City Pampanga with 61 participating enterprises had 1,673 registrants with 21 hired-on-the-spot while n SM City San Fernando Downtown had 17 participating companies with 441 vacancies and 352 registrants with 61 hired-on-the-spot.
Spearheaded by Dole-Central Luzon, the job fair at SM welcomed graduates and other job hopefuls looking for better opportunities.
The job fair was participated in by different local and international companies, mall tenants, together with the SM Group of Companies such as The SM Store, SM Supermarket, Watsons Personal Care, Ace Hardware and SM Supermalls.
Remaining true to its mission and vision, SM Supermalls aims to contribute to the nation-building and development of Filipinos. The jobs fair is a part of corporate social responsibility that is simultaneously held in all 60 SM malls nationwide.
In SM City Pampanga, through DOLE’s One-Stop-Shop Services, some government services participated in the event for the convenience of aspirants who were applying. These include the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-ibig Fund, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Moreover, a Negosyo Center booth was set-up by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to give pointers to aspiring entrepreneurs on how to start their own business with trainings through the SME Roving Academy.
Graciously attending the jobs fair in SM City Pampanga were Dole Regional Director Anna Dione, Pampanga Second District board member Anthony “Tonton” Torres, ABS-CBN correspondent Gracie Rutao, Provincial Peso manager Luningning Vergara, Dole Provincial Chief LEO Alex Inza-Cruz, DTI Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio with SM Regional Operations Manager Junias Eusebio, assistant mall managers Jerwin Jalandoni and Raquel Chua.
