(Manila Bulletin)
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo has convened the Tourism Coordinating Council (TCC) to spur team effort among stakeholders in the tourism industry.
Teo cited the need to reactivate the TCC which has not been convened in the last two years in line with the Duterte administration’s policy of shared governance.
“It is imperative that we collaborate as a team of stakeholders in the implementation of the National Tourism Development Plan and realize the government’s vision of Ambisyon Natin 2040 for the benefit of all sectors, at the same time, deliver the best tourism packages to the world market,” Teo said.
The TCC helps set the direction for the country’s tourism program and address urgent issues confronting the country’s tourism industry.
Inputs and insights of representatives from other government agencies, the travel sector, and tourism stakeholders are now being consolidated for incorporation to the NTDP and will be presented to President Duterte for final approval.
