The third meeting of the Plan Steering Committee (PSC), composed of Cabinet secretaries and chaired by Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia, on the formulation of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 was held last January 17 at the Development Academy of the Philippines in Pasig.
The Cabinet members present in the meeting were Sec. Rafael Mariano of Agrarian Reform, Sec. Mark Villar of Public Works and Highways, Sec. Judy Taguiwalo of the Social Welfare and Development, Sec. Arthur Tugade of Transportation, Sec. Gina Lopez of Environment and Natural Resources, Sec. Fortunato De La Pena of Science and Technology, Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., and Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edillon presented the PDP 2017-2022 targets. OIC-Director Remedios S. Endencia of the NEDA Regional Development Staff, on the other hand, presented the National Spatial Strategy.
Chairpersons and representatives of the 11 Planning Committees (PC) presented the strategic frameworks, results matrices, and strategies of their respective PDP chapters. The body was invited to give comments after the presentation, for the discussion and approval of the PSC.
Director Roderick Planta of the Infrastructure Staff represented the PC 4, which is Infrastructure for Development.
The PDP is expected to be submitted to the President and the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council on January 31. It will then be presented to the NEDA Board on February 13. It will be printed, published, released, and posted on the NEDA website this February.
