To effectively communicate the core advocacies on Ambisyon Natin 2040, Philippine Development Plan (PDP) and Regional Development Plan (RDP) for 2017-2022 through effective presentations, the NEDA regional office in Northern Mindanao or NRO X conducted a re-echo training/workshop for its personnel on May 2-3 at the RDC NEDA Northern Mindanao (NorMin) Main Conference Room, Cagayan de Oro City.
NEDA NorMin Regional Director (RD) Leon M. Dacanay, Jr. and Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Mae Ester T. Guiamadel served as resource persons during the two-day workshop. Both officials attended the Speaker’s Bureau Training held on April 18-19 in Manila.
“The stakeholders should understand what we are talking about. The challenge is to laymanize our presentation so we can effectively communicate the Plan,” RD Dacanay said in his opening statement.
Topics presented at the event were the following: (a) stakeholders analysis; (b) messaging and effective presentations; (c) engaging the audience and answering questions from stakeholders; and (d) handling media interviews.
The participants were also grouped into sectors or target audiences during the training. These were local government units, media, academe, and youth sectors. The groups were given the opportunity to make and present a stakeholders analysis and presentation materials. They also delivered a 5-10 minute mock presentation capturing the key messages in Ambisyon Natin 2040, PDP and RDP.
Meanwhile, DRD Chief, Engr. Cecilio Y. Clarete delivered the closing remarks wherein he encouraged everyone to actively participate in the NRO’s core advocacy activities and to become part of the Speakers’ Bureau.
